The DS3231 is a low cost, high precision I2C Real time clock (RTC) with an integrated thermostatic crystal oscillator (TCXO) and crystal. The device contains a battery input that maintains a timing when the main power supply is disconnected. Integrated crystal oscillator improves device longevity and reduces the number of components in the production line. The DS3231 is offered in both commercial and industrial grade temperature ranges in a 16-pin 300mil SO package. RTC stores information about seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, dates, months, and years. For months less than 31 days, the month end date will be automatically adjusted, including leap year corrections. The clock can work in 24 hour format or 12 hour format with /AM/PM indication.
